The lineup of the hardest international rail-riders of the new generation is complete with
20 riders from 10 countries and is getting ready for the roughest rail event in Europe in
Munich on January 27, 2008. Eleven meters of steel railing and 100 m3 snow will create a
fantastic happening in front of an historical facade in the middle of Munich. Fans have the
chance to see the elite of snowboarders live.
At ispo winter 08, the word of the day for already the second time is: spotlights on for Quiksilver
- DAS RAIL presented by ispo. You can look forward to a top-rate snowboard event with ispo as
the largest sports and sports lifestyle trade fair in the world and the main sponsor Quiksilver,
which is one of the world's largest boardsports brands.
As in the past years, the "Haus der Kunst" is serving as the stage with its historical facade and a
27-step rail when the best rail-riders of the new generation compete for the 10,000 € in prize
money. The 20 riders from 10 countries will fight for the crown as the best rail-shredder in a Jam
format.
The riders also include Dan Brisse (USA), Mark "Deadlung" Edlund (USA), Fredu Sirvio
(FIN) and Chris Sörmann (SWE), who just recently confirmed their participation. As a result, the
lineup is complete:
Fredrik Austbo (NOR), Max Legend (CAN), Hans Åhlund (SWE), Nate Bozung (USA), Emeric
Front (FRA), Kareem El- Rafie (SWE), Dimitri Fesenko (RUS), Sami Sarenpää (FIN), Eiki
Helgasson (IS), Tonton Holland (CH), Cheryl Maas (NL), Lucas Magoon (USA), Antti `Naku`
Piirainen (FIN), Gulli Gudmundsson (IS), Janne Heiskanen (FIN), Dan Brisse (USA), Mark
"Deadlung" Edlund (USA), Fredu Sirvio (FIN), Chris Sörmann (SWE) and Scotty Arnold (USA).
The riders are already known from many snowboard movies such as "Purple Yeahh" from
Yeahh! Productions, “Green” from MMP Productions, the Rome team video "Any Means" as well
as "Storbis/07", "Paradox", "Up in the Sky" and "First Chair, Last Call". You can see them live in
Munich on January 27, 2008!
In addition to the original Handrail and the Wallride at the "Haus der Kunst", a Boxline will be
offered - innovative trick combos are guaranteed. Not only the tricks of the riders will ensure the
appropriate ambience, but the setup can't be beat either: neo-classical architecture with a 150
year old facade protected as an historical monument and 12 meter high marble columns. The
giant terrace and the 11 m long steel railing make the settings perfect for the top rail event in
Europe 2008.
