Vortrag: Fair trade – how to gain more business volume through sustainable products

By now the production of textiles has not only to accomplish price and quality criteria. Consumers attach an increasing importance to fair traded and sustainable produced products by their choice of products and brands. Sustainable and fair traded products are also getting an increasing selling point at the specialist shops and open the door to new and well-funded target groups.

The talk followed by a discussion informs about sustainable produced brands and shows up possibilities for retailers to benefit with sustainable products from a new target group. Dr.-Ing. Maike Hora (econcept), Mark Held (Secretary General of the European Outdoor Group), Rolf Heimann (Head of research and ecology at Hess Natur and member of board of directors of the IVM) as well as representatives of lafuma, Polartec and Patagonie will form the podium. The talk will be completed by the latest expertise from the ispo trend survey concerning the importance of this topic for retailers.

At ispo winter 08 the Wearable Technologies Show will present the latest technological and fashionable developments at the sports and lifestyle sector.

At the snow ice & rock summit 08 – presented by Bergans of Norway Christian Stammel (CEO of the ispo partner Navispace) will give a review about the fast growing market of integrated sports wear. Within this presentation, combinations of outdoor equipment and technology will be explained, real life examples will be introduced and Christoph Ebert (s2b – Science to Business GmbH) will talk about an applied sensor technology example. Product demonstrations of the WT-highlights will top off the talk.

Erlebnisbericht: Ski-Expedition Manaslu - Kampf gegen die Zeit

In fall 2007 the Dynafit-Gore-Tex Team Benedikt Böhm / Sebastian Haag tried to climb and descend with ski the 8.163m high Manaslu as fast as possible. Their goal: to master 3.300 altitude difference from base camp to the top within 24h. This was a really adventurous project because statistics tell that every fourth of the mountaineers won’t reach the base camp alive.

Not only the peak sporting performance and the dangerous skiing descends but also the specific preparation and the hard work-out for years will stand in the focus of this adventure report.
