ispo to again present "Social Awareness Award"
As part of the ispo BrandNew Awards at ispo winter 10, to be held from February 7th to 10th, 2010, the "ispo Social Awareness Award" will once again be honoring extraordinary projects. Under consideration are projects endorsing sports with the help of e.g. integration, communication, support of the underprivileged, or promotion of social cooperation. In addition to the award, the winners will receive the use of a complimentary exhibition booth at ispo and will be integrated as an important component of the entire ispo BrandNew Awards communication.
Last winter the award went to Skateistan, the first skateboard school
in Kabul, Afghanistan. The school’s goal is to provide the city’s
children and adolescents with a new perspective, and to teach them
social awareness, responsibility, project management, and English.

In 2010 ispo winter will be held one week later than usual, from February 7th to 10th. The reason for this modification is a change in the U.S. trade show calendar. SnowSports Industries America (SIA) has decided to hold its SnowSports Tradeshow from January 28th to 31st, 2010, which would present a conflict with ispo winter.
“In order to find the
best possible arrangement for our customers, we spoke to many industry
representatives, and, in accordance with their response, decided to postpone
ispo winter by one week. We are in contact with SIA to discuss options to avoid
future conflicts between the two events. This one-time date change is a
solution for our national and international exhibitors and visitors, allowing
them to take part in both trade shows to be able to cover all important
markets,” explains Tobias Gröber, Business Unit Leader
Consumer Goods for Messe München GmbH.
New show: BIKE EXPO in Munich: 23-26 July 09
BIKE EXPO in Munich unites what belongs together: The Trade Fair for City and
Nature with a preview on the innovatins of the next season presented already in
summer. And a public event in the most important mountain bike market all over
Germany. The excellent location (10 million people live in the periphery of
150km) and the good access to the fair ground offer the platform for the
complete bike sector: manufacturers - retailers - media - consumers.
ispo Awards: Focus on Outdoor, European Ski, EcoResponsibility, Board & BrandNew
As part of ispo winter 09, a number of awards will be presented for exceptional products from the outdoor, ski, board, and sustainability segments. In addition, the best newcomers will receive a Brand New Award. An international jury, consisting of representatives of the industry, retail and media, examined the entered products according to the criteria: function, quality, technical solution, innovation, user friendliness, and design.
