The whole world is celebrating snowboarding! ispo winter as the platform for the Snowboard Community supports the World Snowboard Day on December 23, 2007. After a first successful edition, the snowboard day becomes international with the World Snowboard Day. Book the date right now: snowboarding will be celebrated in many resorts all around the world.
Organized and coordinated by EuroSIMA (European Boardsports Industry
Manufacturers Association) and the WSF (World Snowboard Federation),
the goal of the World Snowboard Day is to promote the snowboard
activity and its culture.

Rider Owned Brands - ROB - small brands with big style
In its 5th consecutive year, ispo is going to present the Rider Owned Brands area to international retailers and media in a special and appropriate area. Former brands include Albin Snowboards, Mission6, Holden, Grenade, Demon, Rome, Icon, Celtek, Signal Snowboards, Aaven, Ästhetiker, Stepchild Snowboards, Illuminati, Omatic and others. As many of these brands have grown out of the ROB- Area due to their success at ispo show, we are now looking for new Rider Owned Brands that wish to kick-start into the global specialised boardsports retail and media markets.
Boardsports Art & Lifestyle: Spacejunk at ispo winter 08
The essence of the Board Culture is an ensemble of positive values inherent to board sports: Respect for the environment and our planet’s ecology, respect for the human body and a passion for music and art! Spacejunk is born to present and represent the extraordinary creativity of various artists who are inspired by the Boardsports milieu. ispo proudly presents those Board Culture artists in collaboration with Spacejunk Gallery.
By supporting today the world’s best artists of the Board
Culture around this exhibition, Spacejunk and ispo have provided to you
a part of this artistic movement. The artworks presented here speak
naturally to anyone sensitive to this culture, whether they are
actively involved in Boardsports or not! Located within the new
Boardsports Streetwear platform – Metropolis – at ispo
winter 08, the Spacejunk Gallery fully captures the creative lifestyle
inherent in Boardsports.

Solo artist’s exhibition
is where you will be immerge into one person’s world, meeting the
artist trough his production and reading a bit about him thanks for the
books or catalogues prints about him. Please meet Zako from Spain, Andy
Howell or Scott Bourne from USA, Nicolas Thomas from France or Mr JAGO
from UK. Collective artworks
produced by the Spacejunk live artists during the past ispo trade show.
From 2 to 3 artists per canvas, the meeting of style, the confrontation
or the fun of exchanging with brushes will for sure talk to you! Goods exhibition
is about great collaboration 100% respectful of the artists’
works. As one of the purpose of Spacejunk, understand that from the
original artwork to the product on which the art is show no changes
have been done. Snowboards, clothes, skis or skateboards become art
prints.
As music is a full part of our environment, and
especially during fair or tradeshows, Spacejunk @ Metropolis will try
to provide you a nice and soft music background with DJ Alban from
France.
The ispo Boardsports Award returns! Launched during ispo winter 07, the Award aims to identify and honour the most innovative products in the boardsports industry and to acknowledge a company’s efforts in advancing both the sport and industry.
All winning products will be exhibited in a designated area to provide
visitors with an overview of the most exiting and outstanding products
for the selling season 2008/09. In comparison to 2007, the ispo
Boardsports Awards 2008 will see two new categories: Safety Gear &
Kids Products. With more than 80 high-quality entries last year,
companies will need to thoroughly energise their creativity to stand
out amongst the fierce competition!
The categories are defined as follows:
1. Hardgoods 2. Outerwear/ Technical Apparel 3. Accessories 4. Safety Gear 5. Special Award of the Jury: Kids’ Products
Adding to the prestige of the winning products is the fact that the
winners of each category are automatically shortlisted for the European
Snowboard Industry Awards presented by ispo, EuroSIMA Mountain Division
and Boardsport SOURCE Magazine, to be held at a gala ceremony in
Livigno!

Art of Longboarding Designer and photographer wanted
Arbor Europe will present an extraordinary exhibition at the ispo winter 08 (27. – 30. January 2008). Due the good cooperation of Arbor Europe and ispo – The Sports Community will install as a fest for the eyes for all skateboard and superior photography fans an exhibition "Art of Longboarding" in hall A2 in the Boardsport Lifestyle Segment. Entitled Art of Longboarding - nature and urban recreation the 12 finalists of the longboard-design and photography competition will be presented in a show.
Artists from all styles are called up to design the base of the
Arbor Bamboo Pin new. The theme to be considered is "nature
recreation". The fundamental idea is – nature recreates, what
people developed and left again. In the run up to the ispo winter 2008
European traders will elect 12 finalists. The winner of the Longboard
Design Competition will be voted in the Spacejunk area. He/She will get
an own Longboard Pin, media presence and 3% of the earnings of the
limited edition Arbor will produce according to his/her design.
Works
for the photography competition should thematically deal with urban
recreation. The fundamental idea is: Longboarding in consistence and
fusion with the city – urban recreation. The 12 finalist will be
voted again in the run of the ispo winter 08 in an online
voting. The winner of the Longboard photography contest will get an
Arbor Long– or Snowboard of his choice, media presence and his
work will be published in our partner?s print magazine.
Closing
date for both, the Longboard Design and photographs is the 20.12.2007.
